120 graduates of the MISM and MSIT programs received their diplomas at a ceremony led by Dean Mark G. Wessel on Saturday afternoon, May 17, 2008. Student speaker Harish Murthy noted that one of his most valuable lessons at Carnegie Mellon was understanding that by learning from each other's experience you can also help each other to succeed.
Rohit Chawla was the recipient of the student leadership award; Tanaji Naik and Yunfeng Shi received teaching assistant awards; and MISM Program Director Sean Beggs received the staff excellence award. Lynne Pastor was award the teaching excellence award and also delivered the charge to the graduates.
At the university wide ceremony on Sunday morning our students were inspired by Randy Pausch and Al Gore.
